Large & Unique Owner's Living Quarters
With most inns, bed and breakfasts, or motels, the owner's living quarters will often consist of a couple of guest rooms converted to a living space, or perhaps a 1- or 2-bedroom apartment on site. Sometimes, the owner even gets an entire floor... at the very top of the property or in the basement.

Not at the Highland Lake Resort! The "owner's quarters" is actually a 4 bedroom, 2-bath, 2-story farmhouse attached directly to the office!

Circa 1813 Farmhouse with many upgrades            First floor Master Bedroom for first floor living                                First floor 3/4 bath

The Owner's Quarters has a kitchen, living room, dining room, and laundry room on the first floor. There is also a hot tub/sun room addition that has a deck for a BBQ grill and stairs going down into a fenced in dog pen. The current owners were able to leave the back door open (with a screen and doggy door) and have their pet have access to the outside whenever needed. There is a working fireplace, a den, a 3/4 bath with double sink, and a Master Bedroom also on the ground floor.

The second floor has its own Master Bedroom, 2 additonal bedrooms, and a full bath. A very unique point is that almost every upstairs room has under-eaves storage rooms, carpeted and lighted for extra storage! There is also an unheated additional attic space off one of the smaller bedrooms.

Almost all rooms downstairs have hardwood floors, and the Master Bedroom has antique pine floors with the original square forged nails! While it hasn't been confirmed, it's suspected that the other rooms in the house also have hardwood floors under the carpets.

To get to the Front Desk from the house, one goes from the kitchen, 3 feet through the laundry room, down 3 steps, and about 6 feet away is the office interior door. There are also extensions of the business phone and doorbell in the house, so one doesn't have to be in the office to answer calls or to know someone has come to the Front Desk. The phone system can even be answered by standard portable phones!
